About Johnson City Drywall
We hang, tape, finish and repair drywall across Johnson City and the Tri-Cities. That is the whole business, not a step between other trades.
Drywall Is All We Do
Plenty of outfits in this area will patch a wall between other jobs. We do drywall and nothing else, which is why we carry the board a room actually calls for rather than whatever is on the truck: standard half-inch gypsum panel on most walls, moisture-resistant board where a bathroom or a basement needs it, and five-eighths Type X where fire separation code applies.
Many years of hanging and finishing goes into knowing which one belongs where, and into making the seam between new board and an existing wall disappear under paint. Texture matching is where that shows most. Smooth, orange peel, knockdown and skip-trowel all get matched to what is already on your wall, not to whatever sprays easiest.
How We Work
You get a free on-site estimate before anything is cut, with the board type, the price and the number of visits written down. We cover floors, close the work area off and sand with vacuum-assisted tools, because drywall dust is the part of this job homeowners actually dread. When the compound is cured we check the patch under different light, since a flat spot that is invisible at midday shows up under a lamp at night.
Compound has to dry between coats, so a repair takes more than one visit. Anyone who tells you they will hang, finish and texture a real patch in a single trip is either coming back or leaving you a patch that cracks.

What It Costs to Get Us Out
Our minimum callout is $150. That is the honest number: a patch needs one visit to cut and fill it and a second to finish it once the compound has dried, so nobody in this trade turns out for less. From there it is scope and access. Estimates are free and given on site, because nobody can price a stained ceiling accurately over the phone.
