Four things, and none of them needs you to know anything about drywall.

• Roughly how big the damage is. Smaller than a fist, smaller than a dinner plate, or bigger than that.
• Wall or ceiling. Ceilings take more setup and the texture match matters more, because ceilings catch light across the surface.
• Whether water was involved, and whether the leak is fixed. We put the wall back once the cavity is dry. Extraction and mold remediation are separate licensed specialties and we refer those out.
• What the existing texture looks like. Smooth, orange peel, knockdown or skip-trowel. A photo from your phone answers this better than words.
